LinkedIn Launches Volunteer Marketplace for Nonprofits (via nonprofit tech for good)

To help nonprofits recruit qualified volunteers and to assist individuals eager to volunteer with nonprofits, LinkedIn has launched a Volunteer Marketplace where nonprofits can post volunteer opportunities and LinkedIn members can search for volunteer opportunities in their local communities. According to LinkedIn for Good, 82% of surveyed LinkedIn members have communicated that they want volunteer their time and skills and thus far more than 600,000 LinkedIn members have added their Volunteer Experience & Causes to their LinkedIn profiles.

The service is not free for nonprofits, but it is offered at a discounted rate of 90 percent off LinkedIn’s standard rate for job postings, thus $19.50 for a 30-day volunteer posting. To begin, your nonprofit must first claim and set up your LinkedIn Company Page and then visit LinkedIn for Nonprofits to post your volunteer opportunities.
