Fun Friday Post: The Movember Mustache Manifesto [INFOGRAPHIC] (via Mashable)

All hail Movember!

Unfamiliar with the term? Movember has quickly grown into one of the most successful men’s health charities since its inception in 2004. The premise is simple: Cultivate fantastic — or filthy, depending on your opinion of mustaches — upper lip hair for the month of November to raise awareness and money for men’s health causes, particularly prostate and testicular cancer.

The Movember movement is largely based online, with a number of apps, viral videos and other digital initiatives playing a central role in building mustache momentum. But before you get to nurturing that fu manchu, handlebar or chevron this month, it’s important to do a bit of research. The infographic below, which comes by way of the website hairlossgeeks.com, serves as a nice Movember primer.

“Kissing a man without a mustache is like eating an egg without salt,” says a variation of a quote widely attributed to writer Rudyard Kipling. Just what type of mustache fits you best, however, is a tricky science.

The “Dali” and “horsehoe” are among the most recommended variations for long, thin faces like mine. If you’ve got a square face, consider rocking the powerful “walrus” or “imperial” variations. And if you were blessed with a round, cherubic mug, refined “English” and “pencil” styles are likely among your best options.

Check out the full infographic below for more tips, then let us know in the comments — what type of ‘stache will you or your significant other sport this Movember?
