Social Media Demographics

The infographic below, “A Case Study in Social Media Demographics,” found on Mashable, was created by Online MBA.  
 
Of particular interest to me was the gender breakdown — women use some of the more popular social media tools more than men.
 
  • Approximately 57% of Facebook users and 59% of Twitter users are women.
  • To find the greatest percentage of women in the social media space, head over to Pinterest where 82% of pinners are women.
  • Google+ is definitely where the men hang out,  as 71% of men use it compared to just 29% of women.
  • LinkedIn reports an even ratio of men and women – 49% over age 45 — who use the site to connect with other business professionals.
